Five SB teams remain in quest for berth to AHSAA regionals:

GDW Analysis:
Heading into Monday, five local softball teams are still competing in the area segment of the AHSAA playoffs.
Two teams are needing a victory to remain in contention to get to the regional round, one is playing for an area championship and two others will get their area format off and running.
Good Hope:
Lady Raiders' momentum got stopped Saturday by West Morgan 5 to 0 in 4A, Area 13 at Priceville.
Good Hope rebounded by an 11 to 1 victory over Hanceville in the elimination bracket.
The Lady Raiders, 19 & 9, have a 12:00 p.m. game Monday vs. East Lawrence. The winner will face Priceville in the loser's final at 2:00.
West Morgan is undefeated with the shutout of Good Hope and a 9 to 7 victory over Priceville. They are in the championship waiting to see who comes through the loser's bracket.
The championship is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Priceville ball field.
Vinemont:
Lady Eagles are in a 3 team field in 3A, Area 13 in Blountsville.
Vinemont and Susan Moore will play Monday at 4:30 with the winner to go into the championship vs. JB Pennington at 6:30 p.m.
Cullman:
Lady
Bearcats spent Saturday watching former Cullman player EC Wilson pitch for Northwest Shoals at Wallace State Community College.
Now the Lady Bearcats will journey to Jefferson County Monday for the 6A, Area 13 championship against Mortimer Jordan.
Game 1 will be at 1:30 p.m. with the 2nd game of the series to follow in the late afternoon.
A 3rd game, if needed, will be held on Tuesday.
Cullman is 23-13-1 overall.
Holly Pond:
Lady Broncos go to Walnut Grove for the 2A, Area 10 tournament with a matchup against Cleveland at 4:00 p.m.
The winner gets West End in the championship round at 6:00 p.m.
Cold Springs:
Lady Eagles are in the 2A, Area 10 playoff at Sumiton Christian in Walker County. Cold Springs plays Locust Fork at 11:00 with the winner to meet Sumiton Christian at 1:00 p.m.
The tournament will run through Tuesday.
Locals that are eliminated for the playoffs:
Hanceville went 0 & 2 in the 4A, Area 13 tournament, losing to East Lawrence 9 to 8 and then to Good Hope 11 to 1.
Fairview fell in the opening round of 5A, Area 11 to Springville 16 to 0, then saw the season end in St. Clair County with an 11 to 1 loss to West Point. Lady Aggies end the year with 15 wins in 25 games.

West Point lost in the first round of 5A, Area 12 to Hayden 4 to 3. The Lady Warriors stayed alive by their 11 to 1 victory against Fairview.
On Saturday, West Point fell to Hayden in the elimination round 12 to 6.
The top two teams will go from the area playoffs to the regional round the following week.
Cullman and Good Hope seek to make it to the North Regional in Florence. Cold Springs, Holly Pond and Vinemont set their sights on the East Regional in Albertville.
